In The Beginning

This is the story of the little town of Bedgeberry that is struggling to survive an economic downturn. For years the town has thrived because of the Froggenhall Chocolate Company.  Froggenhall was the main employer in town and provided the citizenry a comfortable living. Those who didn't work for the Company benefited by providing goods, services and housing to the many employees.

Then one day this comfortable partnership came crashing down. Froggenhall Chocolates had traditionally been a very hands on operation.  But when old Abner Froggenhall died, his son Benton decided to "modernize". This meant that many of the hands on jobs were replaced by complicated, mechanized equipment. Many of the employees were completely baffled by these machines and production soon slowed to a crawl.

Eventually, citing a lack of qualified employees, the Company closed it's plant here and moved operations to Simsboro, where it said, there was a greater field of qualified people to work the machines. Some employees were given the option to transfer to the new location, some were given the option to take an early retirement and some....well, some were just out of work.

Because of the lack of opportunities left in Bedgeberry, a great many of the townfolk moved to other towns looking for work. But there are a few brave souls still here struggling to bring the town back to its former glory.

Join them as they love and laugh, work and play and rebuild this little town they love.
